Harvest: Reaping What Season 1 Planted

There's a season for planting and there's a season for harvest. You don't plant a seed and harvest it the same day. You water it, you tend it, and you wait through seasons where it doesn't look like anything is happening above the ground. When really everything is happening underneath. And then one day the ground breaks open, and what you planted finally shows itself. That is exactly where we are right now. Seven episodes ago, we planted something together. We planted the truth that your vision has to become ink. We planted the question of who told you that you weren't qualified. We planted the discipline it takes to go from notebook all the way to published. We planted the strength to keep going when you weren't supported, the wisdom to guard your yes before you ever say it, and discernment and peace to go along with it. And last time we planted endurance because some of you were ready to quit. Today's not another seed. Today is harvest. Galatians 6 and 9 tells us, let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up. Y'all, this is due season. This is Vision and Ink. It is written. Let's get into it. Now, I want you to hear me. This is not a goodbye episode. This is a gathering episode. We're going to walk back through everything we planted this season, and I'm going to show you how it was never seven separate conversations. It was one field, one vision, being tended episode by episode until it grew into something you can actually hold in your hands. If you've been listening since episode one, today is for you. And if this is your very first time here, today is still for you because Harvest has a way of catching people up fast. Let us pray before we walk the field. Father God, thank you for this season. Thank you for every seed you allowed us to plant together through every episode, every word, every listener who showed up faithfully. Thank you that you are not a God who plants and then walks away from the field. You water what you plant, you tend what you started, and you bring things to harvest in due season. Lord, for the one listening right now who's been waiting to see fruit from their faithfulness, let today be the day they realize it's already started to grow. And for the one who is just tired from tending something for so long, remind them that harvest always comes after the labor, never before it. Now the first thing we planted was right here at the very front of the field. Look at this, it grew up straight. A single sturdy stalk standing tall with a deep taproot that went down before it ever grew up. This was episode one. This is where we planted truth. Vision must become ink. Not just a thought in your head, not just a feeling in your spirit. Something written, something real, something you can actually return to and hold yourself accountable for. This stalk right here had to go in first because nothing else in this field would grow until it did. Now let's walk with me just a little bit to the left of that. See this row? This one looks different. The ground here was harder when we started. It was crusted over. But look right here. Something pushed straight up through that hard soil and cracked it wide open. That is episode two. That is where we planted a question a lot of us need to ask out loud. Who told you that you were not qualified? Somebody's voice got into that robe before God's voice did, and it packed the soil down really hard. But 2 Corinthians 3 and 5 says, Our sufficiency isn't of ourselves, it's from God. So qualification was never about what you had enough of, it was about who called you. Now, right here, we had to dig that lot up, root and all, so it wouldn't choke out everything else growing around it. And look, it still broke through anyway. Now a few more steps over to the next section of the garden. This one climbs. See that trellis? This is a vine and it did not grow overnight. It wrapped one ring at a time, a little higher every day until it reached all the way to the top. This is episode three. This is where we planted discipline from notebook to published. Right in this row is what it actually takes to move something from an idea to a finished, held in your hands, reality. That was not a glamorous seed to plant. That was a watering every day showing up when you didn't feel like it's seed. But look at the vine now. It is absolutely growing and healthy. Now let's keep walking. The next stretch of field, it absolutely was not easy ground. Walk with me over to this section towards the back where the shade sits longer and the sun doesn't hit until later on in the day. Now you wouldn't know by just looking at the surface, but if you could see underground right here, you'd see the roots running deep and wide, further than the plant itself is even tall. This is episode four. This is where we planted something a lot of us wrestled with. It went in during a season when you looked around for people to stand with you in this role and the field looked empty. But that season taught roots because a plant that only grows when somebody is cheering for it, that plant has shallow roots. Mark 4 and 26 through 28 tells us the kingdom of God is like a seed a man scattered on the ground night and day. Whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, and he doesn't even know how. The soil produces grain all by itself. Now, right here in this row, God wasn't just growing your dream. The same way that seed grew while the man slept. He was growing your roots. Now come a little further just past that patch to the next section with the low fencing that's around it. This is a companion bed. These plants were placed on purpose right next to certain things and kept apart from others because what grows beside you matters just as much as what you plant. This is episode five. This is where we planted wisdom before you say yes, the power of agreement. Now, right in this row, we learned that what you agree to, you give permission to grow in your life. So we had to be careful about what we planted our yes next to. Now, a few more steps over in this section right here with the hedge around it. See how this row is fenced in? Nothing gets in here that wasn't put here on purpose. This is episode six. This is where we planted discernment and peace, guarding your yes, because a field left unguarded gets taken over by whatever wants to grow there, not just what you intended to grow. Alright, let me see now. At the far end of this row, look at that stalk. It's been weathered on one side where the wind hit it the hardest, but it's still standing. This is episode seven. This is where we planted endurance when you want to quit. This was the one for the one standing right here in the middle of the field, tired, wondering if any of this is ever going to come up from the ground. Every single one of these episodes was a seed. And seeds don't look like anything while they're growing. That's the part nobody claps for. But it's the part that makes the harvest possible. Now, here's what I need you to understand about harvest. Harvest doesn't always look like a finished product. Sometimes harvest isn't the book on the shelf. Sometimes harvest is just that you didn't quit back in episode 7 season. Sometimes the harvest is the fact that you're still here, still listening, still tending something you could have easily walked away from. Psalm 126 and 5 says, Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. Now, not everybody's harvest this season looked like a celebration while it was growing. Some of you sold through exhaustion. Some of you sold through people doubting you. Some of you sold through seasons where you genuinely did not know if it was gonna work. But sowing in tears does not disqualify the harvest. It just means that your harvest is going to carry a testimony that an easy harvest never could. John 4 and 35 says, Lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are white for harvest. Sometimes we miss our own harvest because we're looking down, worried about the planting season, instead of lifting our eyes to see what's already grown. So today I want you to lift your eyes. Look back over these seven episodes. Look back over your own season. What actually grew, not what you wish had grown yet, not what's still in the ground, what is actually standing up out of the dirt right now. Name it. Because if you can't name your harvest, you will keep living like you're still only planting. Now, here's something farmers understand that we sometimes forget. A crop that's ready and never gathered still gets lost. Growth is not the finish line. Gathering is. So this season's finale isn't just a look back, this is a charge. If God grew something in you this season, gather it. Don't let it sit out in the field and rot because you got used to just admiring the growth instead of actually collecting the harvest. What does gathering look like practically? If you finished a manuscript, gather it, submit it. If you rebuilt confidence in your calling, gather it into an actual step. If you learn discernment, gather it by applying it to a decision that's in front of you right now. If you built endurance through a hard season, gather it by going back and finishing the very thing you almost put down. Galatians 6 and 7 reminds us, whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. That's not just a warning, that's also a promise. If you sold faithfulness, you will reap faithfulness. If you sold obedience, you will reap the fruit of that obedience, even if it's showing up later than you expect it. Now, I want to be honest with you. Harvest season is not the end of the story. After harvest, there's always another planting season. Genesis 8 and 22 says, as long as the earth endures, seed time and harvest will never cease. That is a promise. And honestly, that's how faith works too. So as we close out season one, I'm not asking you to close the book on everything God grew in you. I'm asking you to gather it, give God thanks for it, and get ready. Because the next season is already being prepared. Whatever you're walking into, carry this with you. You already know how to plant when you can't see anything yet. You already know how to guard your yes. You already know how to protect your peace. You already know what to do when support is missing. And you already know how to keep going when you want to quit. Season one was not just content, y'all. Season one was training, and harvest is the proof that the training worked. Okay, before I give you today's takeaway, I want to be real with you for just a moment. This season has some audio challenges. Some episodes weren't as clean as I wanted them to be, and I'm not gonna sit here and pretend you didn't notice because I noticed too. But here's what this season taught me. When God tells you to move, you don't wait until everything feels ready. You don't wait for the perfect equipment, the perfect setup, the perfect sound. You move when he moves, and you fix things as you go along. Ecclesiastes 11 and 4 says, Whoever watches the wind will not plant, and whoever looks at the clouds will not reap. If I had waited for perfect conditions, perfect equipment, somebody to train me, perfect sounds, I would have been watching the wind, and there would be no harvest for us to even talk about today. Honestly, that has been the story of this whole season. Not just the audio, the writing, the learning, figuring it out as we went. So, to every single listener who stayed with me through the rough patches, thank you for hearing past all the terrible audio to receive the message. Thank you for choosing the word over the polish. Thank you for following me into this journey, imperfections and all, so that together we could see what God is actually doing here. That's not a small thing to me. That is partnership, and I don't take it for granted. Now, here's your takeaway. What you sow faithfully, you will gather in due season. 2 Corinthians 9 and 6 puts it plainly. Whoever sows sparingly also will reap sparingly. Whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Don't measure your harvest against somebody else's field. Don't despise the small growth just because it isn't the full crop yet. And don't skip gathering because you're still amazed that something grew at all. Lift your eyes. The field is ready.
