 “It Is Written” stands as a bold affirmation that what God has declared is already established.

Hello and welcome to Vision and Ink. It is written. My name is Genella Harper, and I'm really glad that you are here. Now, this podcast didn't just pop out of nowhere. It actually came from two different parts of my journey that God kind of wove together whether I was ready or not. The first part started with my takeaway series on TikTok. I would get on there and share short scripture-based reflections, just little nuggets to make people think, to help people be honest about where they are with God. Nothing long, just enough to plant a seed. But after a while, I started feeling like those short messages weren't enough. I could feel God pressing on me, like, okay, it's time to go deeper. And if you know anything about God, He will stretch you right past your comfort zone and call it growth. Now the second part came through my journey as a self-published author. When I started publishing my own books through Faith Pages Publishing, I realized something real quick. A lot of people here write the vision, but nobody tells them what comes next. People know they're supposed to write it, they can feel it in their spirit. But when they sit there with a notebook full of ideas, wondering, now what? And the scripture, Hebekah 2 and 2, says, write the vision and make it plain. That is actually the foundation scripture for Faith Pages Publishing. So Vision and Ink came from a combination of two things, the takeaway series and my journey as a self-published author. And I honestly believe God guided me to bring those two together into this podcast. Because some things start out as ideas, but some things are assignments. And this podcast was born out of obedience. Not convenience, not extra time, not boredom, obedience. Because for years God gave me vision, not opinions, not motivational quotes. Vision rooted in his word. And the instruction was simple. Write it. Not when you're confident, not when people approve, not when your money looks right. Write it. Vision and Inc. is part of Faith Pages Publishing, which is my publishing company where I self-publish my books based on God's written word. It is also the home of Written in Worship, which is the music side of Faith Pages Publishing, where we publish Christian music, mainly gospel. I am also the founder and CEO of Omega Alpha Zi. This is a Christian sorority that's built on faith, sisterhood, and service. And at the end of the day, I am just a woman that loves God and believes in his written word, and everything I build comes from that place. The vision God gave me was to publish books based on scripture, not my opinion, but what the word actually says, and to reach ordinary people dealing with ordinary life. Marriage, parenting, responsibility, doubt, bills, faith when life ain't neat and organized. Because life doesn't pause just because God gives you a calling. And even though the vision was clear, fear still showed up. I questioned if I was qualified. I questioned if it was really God. And yes, I worried about what people would think, especially the people who know me. You know, the ones who might be sitting back and saying, Who does she think she is? That thought delayed me longer than anything else. But scripture quickly corrected me. For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1 and 7. So if fear didn't come from him, then I had to stop treating it like wisdom. Because insecurity will try to dress itself up like humility. It'll tell you, wait, be careful, make sure you're ready. And sometimes that sounds real spiritual, but sometimes it's just fear in church clothes. My delay wasn't laziness, my delay was doubt, self-confidence issues, and worrying about perception. Now, one thing about me, I have taken notes my whole life. Notebooks, sticky notes, phone notes, loose paper, folders, ideas everywhere. I had a vision stacked up. But notebooks and books are not the same thing. Writing in private feels so much safer. But public obedience feels exposed. And eventually I had to face James 1 and 22. Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only. At some point, you have to move from learning to doing. And there is a real responsibility with saying you are going to write according to God's word. That means studying, that means growing, that means building a real relationship with Him. This wasn't just about writing books, it was about becoming the person who could carry the message. And as my faith grew, my confidence grew with it. Because confidence rooting in calling doesn't come from applause, it comes from obedience. And obedience doesn't happen in perfect situations. There's been home life, children, responsibilities, parenting a son with special needs, trying to build something meaningful without having the finances lined up. Purpose does not wait for quiet seasons. You build while life is loud. And when it felt heavy, the scripture held me steady. Galatians 6 and 9 says, And let us not be weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. You can get tired and still be called. You can feel stretched and still be assigned. You can lack resources and still build. Vision must become ink. Because if you never write it, if you never build it, it stays locked inside of you. And if God gave it to you, it was never meant to stay hidden. So if you've been sitting on ideas, doubting yourself, waiting for the right time, consider this your confirmation. Write it. Build it. Obey. And don't grow weary in well doing. This is Vision and Ink. It is written.
